How about a horror movie without the screams? Impossible ! you would say, but trust Hollywood to bring up the exceptions. It’s the horror story of four of a family, who can ensure their survival only through one action-silence. The must be silent, whatever they do, wherever they go. If they don’t, they will be hunted down by the beings that attack whenever they hear a sound. The female protagonist, Evelyn Abbot, is a mother of 2 children. Her daughter is Regan, a deaf and mute girl. The son’s name is Marcus. Each day is a silent battle against sound, and of course, the creatures that hunt by it. The film is a silent saga of the family’s trials. It’s hard to imagine going about with your daily activities without making a wee bit noisy. Marcus is especially difficult to handle as he is a young child and making noise comes naturally to him. The plight of Evelyn is most difficult, as she has to go through labor, too, without any sound. Scary enough, isn’t it? So go and watch the movie with silence as its theme. But don’t make a hue-and-cry about it!
